In the scientific and educational vivarium of the Faculty of Biotechnology, SSAU, hybrid chickens of crosses "Dominant CZ" were hatched. The experiment is carried out in order to study the effect of domestic probiotic on the viability of chickensStavropol Agrarian University bred chickens of increased productivity

A new hatch of chickens is always an important event in the Faculty of Biotechnology. Members of the student scientific society "Ptitsevod" take an active part in all stages of rearing chicks. Students perform hatchery maintenance, analyze eggs and embryos, and evaluate the quality of day-old chicks.

The purpose of the experiment is to study the effect of the domestic veterinary probiotic "Sporasin" on embryogenesis and pre-start viability of meat and egg chickens "Dominant TsZ" during polycross incubation of eggs.

The study is the second stage of the dissertation work of a second-year postgraduate student Ksenia Chervyakova on the topic “Development of methods for optimizing the incubation of eggs of hens of crosses “Dominant CZ” under the guidance of Professor of the Basic Department of Private Animal Science, Breeding and Animal Breeding, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Elena Epimakhova.

On the first day of life, chickens lay the foundations for further life and productivity, so they need to be provided with constant supervision and special care. Students take all the necessary measures, including maintaining the necessary level of humidity in the vivarium, checking for diseases and even teaching the chickens to find food and water on their own.

- I spend most of my time in the vivarium of the university. I spent this night here, since the first day is critical for a newly hatched chicken. During this period, the gastrointestinal tract is launched, and it depends on it how the chicken will gain weight and grow in the future, this is the key to its development and productivity. We are cooperating with a company that is currently hatching chickens. They laid eggs at the same time as us, but our chicks hatched faster. We gave them some of the data and we are waiting for data from them, we have constant contact. The company addresses us with problems, we understand, give results, offer solutions. Science must constantly cooperate with production, as well as production with science, only then there will be a result, - says Artem Boyarinov, a third-year student of the Faculty of Biotechnology.

The necessary preparatory studies were also carried out in the laboratories of the university. Associate Professor of the Basic Department of Epizootology and Microbiology, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Elena Svetlakova analyzed swabs from the surface of eggs for bacterial contamination at the Scientific Testing Laboratory of the Department of Epizootology and Microbiology, and students did a morphological analysis of eggs and embryos in the laboratory of the scientific and educational vivarium.
