On March 4, Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Vladimir Padalko took part in a meeting organized by the Ministry of Economic Development on financial and non-financial support for Russian organizations and companies to enter African markets.
The Vice President of the Chamber outlined the main measures of such support, which, in the opinion of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, will allow Russian participants in foreign economic activity to adapt to the new working conditions in foreign markets, despite the sanctions of Western countries. During the meeting, its participants emphasized the need to develop special lending and insurance programs, as well as the importance of using other financial products in foreign trade with African partners.
The idea of creating a Russia-Africa Trading House was supported, which is planned to be implemented with the direct participation of AFROCOM. The proposals of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, prepared for the meeting, were accepted by the ministry for consideration in full.
It is noted that the majority of African countries, in accordance with resolution 11 of the special session of the UN General Assembly, condemned Russia's actions in Ukraine, abstained. From African countries, Côte d'Ivoire has joined the sanctions of the West.
There is an opinion in the Russian expert community that fruits, tea, coffee from the EU countries can be replaced with products from African countries.
As the most effective measures, it is proposed to expand the network of trade missions in Africa and open representative offices in priority countries for trade.
