The Russian government approved the distribution of tariff quotas set for 2023 by the Eurasian Economic Commission for the import of Russian beef and poultry meat, the corresponding Cabinet decree was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.The government approved import quotas for beef and poultry in 2023

According to the resolution, the volume of the tariff quota for fresh or chilled cattle meat (cattle) is set at 40,000 tons, including 29,000 tons for supplies from the European Union and 11,000 tons from other countries. In turn, the size of the tariff quota for frozen cattle meat is 530,000 tons: 60,000 each for the USA and the European Union, 3,000 tons for Costa Rica, and 407,000 for other countries.

In turn, the tariff quota for poultry meat and edible by-products from it (fresh, chilled or frozen) is set at 364,000 tons. The largest volume, 250 thousand tons, is provided for frozen halves or quarters of carcasses, legs and pieces of domestic chickens, the supply of frozen meat is limited to 100 thousand tons, including 80 thousand from the European Union; frozen meat and carcasses of turkeys account for 14 thousand tons.
