The government has updated the list of foreign states that commit unfriendly actions against Russian diplomatic and consular missions abroad, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers told.

The list includes Greece, Denmark, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia.

The Decree was adopted to implement Presidential Decree No. 243 of April 23, 2021 “On the application of measures to influence (counter) unfriendly actions of foreign states.”

The decree involves limiting up to a complete ban for unfriendly countries the ability to hire embassies, consulates and representative government agencies of workers from among persons located on the territory of Russia.

The list approved by the Government, in addition to the names of countries, indicates the number of individuals located on the territory of Russia with whom diplomatic missions of unfriendly countries and their consular offices can enter into employment contracts. So, according to the new order, Greece has a limit of 34 people, Denmark - 20, Slovakia - 16. Slovenia and Croatia will not be able to hire employees in their diplomatic missions and consular offices.

Earlier, in May 2021, restrictions were imposed on the diplomatic missions of the United States and the Czech Republic.

The list approved by the Government is not final and, taking into account the ongoing hostile actions of foreign states directed against Russian missions abroad, may be expanded.
