The Russian government has developed two draft laws that will determine the procedure for introducing QR codes in public places and transport. We are talking about confirming the immunization of citizens when visiting, for example, cafes and restaurants, as well as when boarding a train or plane. This is reported by RBC with reference to a source who participated in the preparation of the document, as well as a source in the Cabinet of Ministers.

One of the sources of the publication clarified that this measure is an emergency and is due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the country. It will work until June 2022. Amendments are planned to be introduced into the law "On sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population".

The detailing of the new norms will be entrusted to the regions, the Agency clarifies. Thus, the authorities decided to provide people with access to cultural events, catering establishments, retail facilities and other organizations using a QR code indicating that a person has been vaccinated, has had coronavirus or has a certificate of medical exemption and a negative PCR test. Specific establishments that can be visited by the code will also be set by regions.

According to the source, until February 1, 2022, instead of a QR code, it will be possible to present a negative PCR test. However, since February 1, it will be valid only together with a certificate of medical exemption.

It is also clarified that the restrictions will not apply to public transport, grocery stores and retail facilities with essential goods.
