All news / The joint Russia-Belarus Collegium of agrarian departments was held online

The Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Khotko held a joint board meeting involving the agrarian departments of both countries.


The event was also attended by the State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota. The discussed covered agritrade cooperation results and priority areas for further joint work.
According to Dmitry Patrushev, the trade turnover of agricultural products and food between Russia and Belarus are still on the rise. In 2019, it grew by 3.2% exceeding $ 5.5 billion in money terms. “By the turnover totals, the Republic of Belarus still holds the first place among all our trading partners. This result is reached partly owing to the main Union State regulating mechanism for the agricultural sector – the BOT harmonization,” stated the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The parties discussed the agritrade barrier raising, veterinary information systems integration, Union State programs preparation and progress.
In conclusion, Dmitry Patrushev thanked the participants for such a productive dialogue and special attention paid to the agricooperation development, expecting mutually beneficial interaction to go on.
