The Ministry of Agriculture expects a stable price situation in the Russian food market in early 2023. This was reported to Izvestia in the ministry on December 20.
“For a number of categories, such as pork and poultry meat, eggs, vegetables, sunflower oil, flour, buckwheat and other types of products, selling prices are currently lower than last year. The Ministry of Agriculture expects that this trend will continue at the beginning of next year," the ministry said.
As specified in the ministry, the fact is that in 2022 the agro-industrial complex shows growth in all key areas. Production is growing and ensures a stable price situation in the food market.
In early November, Maria Zakatova, an analyst at NTech research company, told Izvestia that in 2023 the cost of cereals could grow slightly. The rise in prices may also affect alcohol.
On November 21, NTech analyst Tatyana Erofeeva told Izvestia that the cost of the minimum budget food basket of a Russian for the New Year's table in 2022 increased by 14% compared to last year.
