The Ministry of Agriculture issued a state order for 2024-2026 for 299 drones in the amount of 526 million rubles, and the Federal Agency for Fishery ordered 153 drones for 221.2 million rubles, according to a presentation presented at the Day of the Field forum in the Novosibirsk region.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture for 2022, 229 unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are used in the Russian agro-industrial complex.
As Roman Nekrasov, Director of the Department of Crop Production, Mechanization, Chemicalization and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture, said at the forum, providing the agro-industrial complex with drones is part of the Rosagroleasing program.
The agency also looks forward to the use of heavy drones in the industry.
“If we have permission, and I am sure that someday we will come to this, we will have the appropriate permission and the ability to use heavy unmanned aerial systems, then this area will develop,” Nekrasov said.
In early May 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture posted a draft order on the regulation.gov.ru website, according to which it proposed to allow agricultural producers to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles, including those using artificial intelligence technology, at the expense of investment loans attracted for the development of crop production. It was about loan agreements concluded from January 1, 2017 for a period of 2 to 5 years inclusive.
In some regions of the country, the use of drones is now prohibited.
