Based on the results of the first 9 months of this year, feed production in Russia increased by 2.5% and reached 25.9 million tons. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.

The greatest increase was shown in feed for pigs. Their production since the beginning of the year has increased by 5.1% and amounted to 11.3 million tons, the ministry said. Based on the results of January–September, feed for cattle was produced by 2.7% more than a year earlier. In total, 2.2 million tons of feed were produced for this category of animals. The production of feed for poultry remained almost at the level of last year. A total of 12.3 million tons of these products were produced.

“According to the Ministry of Agriculture, about 35 million tons of compound feed will be produced in 2023,” the statement says.

The ministry added that a total of 445 enterprises in Russia are engaged in the production of compound feed. Over 65% of the total volume is provided by enterprises of the Central and Volga Federal Districts. The main share of production falls on feed for poultry and pigs - more than 90%.
