The Russian Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will encourage producers and retail chains to enter into long-term contracts for the supply of poultry products. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Thus, a plan has been agreed with the main producers to further increase volumes to meet the needs of the domestic market. At the end of the year, the Ministry of Agriculture expects continued positive dynamics in this segment.
“In addition, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, work will be organized to encourage manufacturers and retail chains to enter into long-term contracts for the supply of products, which will ensure the predicted supply volumes and retail prices. We hope that the measures taken will stabilize prices for consumers,” the statement says. message.
Price situation in the food market
The ministry also reports that the price situation on the food market corresponds to seasonal trends. For many items, producer prices are now lower or at the level of those they were a year earlier. Selling prices for products such as pork, sunflower oil, rice, sugar, and vermicelli have decreased over the past month.
Also over the month, the cost of a number of vegetable products decreased - potatoes (-3.2%), carrots (-2.3%), cabbage (-5%), beets (-2.4%), onions (-0. 3%). At the same time, there is a seasonal increase in tomatoes and cucumbers, which is due to the transition to protected soil products, as well as the traditional increase in supplies of more expensive imported vegetables to the market, the ministry notes.
“It is worth noting that the production of vegetable products in 2023 shows positive dynamics. In particular, Russian greenhouses have already produced 1.3 million tons of vegetables (+0.5%). Including 720.6 thousand tons of cucumbers and 555 .9 thousand tons of tomatoes,” reports the Ministry of Agriculture.
