The Moscow region has become a leader in the Russian Federation in the production of 10 types of products – bread, cheese, yogurt, dairy and confectionery, ice cream, canned food, beer, meat and poultry. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.

According to Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, the Moscow Region is the absolute leader of the country in terms of these products.

“However, we are not going to stop there and plan only to increase production volumes in the region,” the 360 ​​TV channel quotes him as saying.

This task, he said, came to the fore in the face of sanctions and restrictions.

Since the beginning of 2022, more than 70 tons of fermented milk products, more than 60 thousand tons of yoghurts, 80 thousand tons of confectionery products have already been produced in the Moscow Region. Also, more than 20 thousand tons of meat and poultry products and more than 14 thousand tons of pasta were produced in the Moscow region, RIAMO specifies.

The region also produces 16% of all Russian cheeses. Every second yogurt and every fifth can of canned meat in the country is also from the Moscow region.

On April 18, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the creation of wholesale food markets in Russia. According to him, the creation of such markets is necessary to help Russian agricultural producers sell their products as close as possible to consumers in large cities.

As the kp.ru website writes, the government has already approved the corresponding concept, and a list of concrete steps for its implementation has now been prepared.

Thus, the government of the Russian Federation will implement the instructions of the head of state Vladimir Putin to increase the production and supply of affordable and high-quality food products, the Zvezda TV channel notes.
