The number of cows in farms of all categories by the beginning of September 2022 was still below the level of the same period in 2021. It amounted to 7.83 million heads, having decreased by 1.3%, or 103 thousand heads. Including in agricultural organizations, the decrease was 0.5% or 17 thousand heads - up to 3.22 million heads.

According to analysts, the largest reduction in livestock in agricultural organizations was noted in the Novosibirsk region (-7.7 thousand heads), the Republic of Bashkortostan (-7.6 thousand heads) and the Krasnoyarsk Territory (-5.3 thousand heads).
