Russian exporters of agricultural products visited the Philippines on a business mission. Filipino businessmen are interested not only in the supply of agricultural products, but also in the joint development of processing enterprises.
Fifteen leading Russian companies producing agricultural products with the support of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Rosselkhoznadzor and the National Meat Association visited the Philippines on a business mission, reports Agroexport. A representative of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture was sent to the Republic of the Philippines two years ago, and this year a Russian trade mission was opened here, the agency said. These measures should contribute to the development of trade relations between the countries.
The trade turnover between Russia and the Philippines is growing, and in 2022 increased by 14%, the report says. Especially in the Philippine market, wheat is in demand, as well as domestic milk, meat and oil and fat products. The meat market is of particular interest, as the Philippines is among the world's top 20 buyers of meat products, and Russia is one of the largest importers.
At the same time, representatives of the Philippine business indicated that the Philippines is interested not only in the supply of products. Currently, there are about 700 agricultural processing plants in the Philippines. Filipino businessmen are proposing a mutually beneficial partnership in which domestic farmers will supply raw materials and Filipino factories will process them into products and supply finished goods to markets.
