Rosselkhoznadzor: the potential of neighboring countries for the supply of meat from the Russian Federation is underestimated. Rosselkhoznadzor believes that Russia needs to focus on the development of meat exports to neighboring countries, the potential of this direction is underestimated. This was announced to journalists on the sidelines of SPIEF-2022 by the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert.

“We need to strive where it is profitable. I believe that those countries that were part of the CIS and the Eurasian Community are very underestimated in our country. We can supply much more pork than we supplied,” he said.

He noted that the export of these products from Russia in the period from January 1 to June 10 amounted to 61 thousand tons, in 2021 for the same period it amounted to 59 thousand tons. At the same time, deliveries to Belarus during this period increased from 9 thousand tons to 25 thousand tons, deliveries to Kazakhstan increased four times, to 4.5 thousand tons, to Armenia - eight times, to 427 tons, to Kyrgyzstan - by 60%, up to 290 thousand tons. In addition, deliveries to Mongolia are growing.

"We are increasing supplies, but not as much as we can," Dankvert said.

According to him, as of June 10, beef exports amounted to 15.5 thousand tons, and in 2021 for this period 11.5 thousand tons. The supply of poultry meat and domestic by-products increased from 109 thousand tons to 159 thousand tons, the supply of poultry from Russia for export from January 1 to June 10 reached 159 thousand tons, of which 62 thousand tons came from China (51 thousand tons in 2021), 14 thousand tons - to Ukraine (12 thousand tons in 2021), 15.5 thousand tons - to Saudi Arabia (8.7 thousand tons in 2021).

“Kyrgyzstan has doubled its purchases, 4.9 thousand tons, and it was 2 thousand tons. Azerbaijan - it was 960 tons, now it is 2.8 thousand. We are working with Azerbaijan. pork than China," he added.

The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor noted that negotiations on opening the Chinese market for pork producers are ongoing, but this country has recently taken a lot of steps that indicate that the country wants to be independent in this product.
