Based on the results of January – July 2023, the volume of feed production increased by 4% compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 20.3 million tons.

During this period, the volume of production of feed for cattle amounted to 1.7 million tons, which is 3% higher than the previous year for the same period. 8.7 million tons of feed for pigs were produced, which is 6% higher than last year. Over 7 months, 9.7 million tons of compound feed for poultry were produced, which is 3% more than last year.

Moreover, in January – July of this year, average producer prices for mixed feed decreased by 19% compared to last year and reached 21.2 rubles per kg, the FEEDLOT agency reported to ViZh. “If we analyze the data by area of livestock farming, we can note that in January–July 2023, the producer price for feed for cattle was 17.4 rubles/kg, which is 14% lower than the previous year. The cost of feed for pigs was 19.6 rubles/kg, which is 20% lower year on year. The average manufacturer price for mixed feed for poultry for January – July 2023 decreased by 19% over the year, reaching 23.1 rubles/kg,” Lyubov Savkina, general director of the analytical company FEEDLOT.
