The restrictions on the export of poultry meat introduced in Belarus are not related to the epizootic. This was reported by the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor following negotiations between the head of the department, Sergei Dankvert, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus, Ivan Smilgin.
During a telephone conversation, the parties discussed restrictions imposed by Belarus on the export of poultry meat to foreign markets.
“The Rosselkhoznadzor is concerned about information received from participants in foreign economic activity that the reason for such a measure could be the worsening of the epizootic situation with avian influenza in the republic. During the dialogue, Ivan Smilgin denied this information, emphasizing that the restrictions are solely related to the need to saturate the domestic market during the II Games of the CIS countries, which are held from August 4 to 14 in Belarus, ”the ministry said in a statement.
