At the same time, domestic suppliers doubled the export of hatching eggs. The volume of the Russian chicken egg market in January 2023 amounted to 3.2 billion pieces, which is 4.7% more than in the same period in 2022.To calculate the market capacity, domestic production in agricultural organizations, exports and imports are taken into account.

The share of imported products in the domestic market was 0.6% in January against 2.4% a year earlier.

In January, domestic agricultural organizations produced 3.2 billion eggs, which is 4.8% more than a year earlier. Growth was observed in seven federal districts of Russia:

- North Caucasian + 20.2%;

- Ural +15.1%;

- Central +10.1%;

- Southern +7.0%;

- Siberian +2.7%;

- Privolzhsky +0.5%;

- Northwestern +0.4%.

The decrease in the industrial production of eggs occurred only in the Far Eastern Federal District, it amounted to 18.5%.

Table chicken eggs were not imported in 2023, and their export increased by 2.1 times. Imports of chicken eggs for incubation decreased by a third, while its exports doubled.
