The government of the Russian Federation will receive the authority to temporarily reduce export duties or zero them within a certain quota when delivering certain types of products to friendly countries. The launch of a new export support mechanism was announced at a cabinet meeting by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“In order to stimulate the growth of deliveries of grain, fertilizers, raw materials to friendly countries, the Government proposes to introduce a special flexible instrument of tariff preferences. We are talking about the possibility of reducing export duties for up to six months and establishing temporary, for no more than one year, reduced or zero customs rates for the export of products within a certain volume,” he said.
Appropriate changes are planned to be made to the federal law “On Customs Tariffs”. A package of documents with amendments will be sent to the State Duma today, Mikhail Mishustin said.
