Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Russia Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jaber, who visited Dagestan, announced the interest of the Middle Eastern state in increasing the volume of meat imports from this region.
During the meeting, which took place today in Makhachkala, the UAE Ambassador discussed plans for economic cooperation and cultural exchange with the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov. The negotiations were attended by Senator Ilyas Umakhanov, Prime Minister of the Republic Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, representatives of the executive and legislative branches.
Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jaber noted that Arab importers are already buying meat products from local counterparties and suggested increasing their supplies.
In turn, Sergey Melikov announced his intention to adopt the best practices of the hospitality industry from Arab operators: to get advice on creating hubs, service and management of tourist clusters. To develop tourism, the regional government plans to create a number of specialized educational institutions in Dagestan.
Dagestan is one of Russia's leaders in meat production. The annual volume of sales of meat products produced in this republic in the domestic and foreign markets is about 15 thousand tons.
