By the end of the year, there were 146 producers registered in the “single register of organic producers” of the Ministry of Agriculture against 100 for 2021, according to the message of Roskachestvo.

Among the producers of organic products, most of all so far are grain producers, notes Roskachestvo - they account for a third of all issued certificates. Roskachestvo reminds that in order to sell their products under the "organic" label, the manufacturer needs to get the appropriate result. Before issuing a certificate, the authorized bodies conduct studies confirming that: agrochemicals, hormonal preparations and other chemical means of protection and growth stimulation are not used in the production of products; genetic engineering is not used, products containing GMOs are not used in production; hydroponics, ionization is not used; there are no food additives, dyes and flavor enhancers of chemical origin in the products, and the packaging is not environmentally harmful.

Producers who use the "organic products" mark without an official certificate may be subject to administrative penalties, Roskachestvo clarified. However, manufacturers can still call their product “eco” and “bio”, even if it is not related to organic production, therefore Roskachestvo reminds buyers to be vigilant and advises them to look for the corresponding sign or QR code leading to the register when choosing organic products.
