There are several regions in Russia that stand out for their high performance in livestock production. According to Rosstat, the Murmansk region occupies a leading position among all Russian regions in terms of growth dynamics in livestock production. In 2023, production volumes in the Murmansk region increased by 31% compared to the previous year.

The Tver region takes second place in this ranking. Over the year, livestock production in this region increased by 16.8%. Bryansk region is also noteworthy as it ranked third with production growth of 12.4% in 2023.

The Pskov region and the Republic of Adygea are also among the top five leading regions for the production of livestock products. Both regions showed significant growth: 9.3% and 7.9% respectively.

However, there are also regions where livestock production has declined. Moscow became the leader in the anti-rating, as its production fell by almost 20% over the year. The Khabarovsk Territory also experienced a drop in production by 18%. Primorsky Krai and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug reduced production volumes by 10%.

These data indicate that there are regions in Russia that are actively developing the livestock industry and achieving significant growth in production. However, some regions are facing difficulties and experiencing a decline in production volumes. It is important to analyze and determine the reasons for such changes in order to develop effective measures to support and develop the livestock industry in these regions.
