At the end of 2023, turkey production in Russia increased by another 1% compared to 2022 – from 414.6 to 418 thousand tons. This is according to the National Turkey Producers Association. In 2024, production volumes of this type of meat will continue to grow due to the implementation of new projects in the industry.
Thus, new turkey farming projects are planned in the Altai Territory and Crimea. The total capacity of these sites will be about 32 thousand tons of finished products per year.
“After the elimination of the outbreak of avian influenza, one of the largest enterprises in the south of Russia, Agro-Plus in the Stavropol region, is increasing production with an output of 15 thousand tons per year,” the message says.
In addition, the Ak Bars diversified holding is restoring a bankrupt turkey farm in Tatarstan. The capacity of this production site will be up to 8 thousand tons per year.
“Small regional companies have planned to increase turkey production in 2024 by an average of 5–7%, and the industry leader, the Damate group of companies, will complete the construction of two new feeding grounds with a capacity of about 26 thousand tons per year in the Penza region and another in Rostov region by 20 thousand tons of products per year,” the association added.
