Turkey meat production in Russia at the end of this year may increase by three to five percent from last year’s figure from 430 thousand tons. This was reported by TASS with reference to the executive director of the National Association of Turkey Producers (NAPI) Anatoly Velmatov.
The expert noted that in the last two years the figure has been steadily growing, amounting to 400 thousand tons in 2021 and 415 thousand last year. This was facilitated by serious work to modernize existing and commission new facilities in the largest production regions. The expert also spoke about the prospects for the development of the poultry industry until 2030. He named an increase in industrial production by 250 - 300 thousand tons as one of the main trends.
In addition, let us recall that the Ministry of Agriculture recently agreed with Russian poultry companies on further expansion of production to prevent shortages and stabilize prices for chicken as one of the socially important goods. This measure was supported by the Government Tariff Subcommittee on Customs, Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation and Protective Measures in Foreign Trade. Other proposals for the same purposes included the abolition next year of the export duty on the supply of no more than 160 thousand tons of this product from abroad, reorientation to the supply of this meat from Belarus and Kazakhstan, as well as limiting its export from December of the current year to May 31 of the next year . These measures, except the last one, were also supported by the Government. The agricultural department did not forget about financial support for the industry. In particular, following the example of other areas, domestic poultry farmers will be provided with preferential loans for various purposes related to production activities.
