Russian pork exports continue to recover after a fall last year, said Yury Kovalev, General Director of the National Union of Pig Breeders, speaking at the XVII International Conference "Mixed Feed-2023".
“Pork exports have begun to recover, and this alleviates the situation with a glut of the market,” said the head of the union.
So, according to the results of the first 3 months of this year, the supply of pork to Vietnam more than doubled. Russian producers shipped 18.9 thousand tons of pork to this country, which is 127% more than in the first quarter of last year. Pork shipments to Hong Kong have more than doubled.
“Because of the current favorable situation in the global pork market, the depreciation of the ruble and domestic prices, exports to Vietnam and Hong Kong began to recover. The increase in the supply of pork to Belarus continued,” Yuri Kovalev added.
According to the results of January-March of this year, pork deliveries to Belarus increased by 18% compared to the same period last year - up to 16.6 thousand tons.
In general, Russian producers exported 46.8 thousand tons of pork in the first 3 months of this year, which is 32% more than last year.
