Japan to start importing Russian chicken meat

Japanese government plans to allow import of chicken meat from Russia as a part of the agreement on the volume of bilateral meat trade. It would allow Japan to satisfy its growing internal demand.The final decision on the chicken meat import trade will be made on June 29 by the Russian president Vladimir Putin and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during their meeting during the G20 summit in Osaka, writes Nikkei Asian Review. According to the publication, due to the concerns over potential infections Russian chicken meat will be inspected twice — in Russia and after it is imported to Japan. Economic ties between India and Russia in priority sectors should deepen and diversify to meet the bilateral trade target of $30 billion by 2025, India’s commerce ministry said on Tuesday, according toRegnum. This was emphasized by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal during a business session this week in Vladivostok. In 2018-19, the bilateral trade between the countries stood at $8.3 billion. Economic growth in Russia picked up to 0.9% in the second quarter of 2019 in year-on-year terms from 0.5% in the first three months of the year, preliminary data by the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) revealed on Monday,accordingto Reuters. No cases of infection or death of cattle from anthrax have been recorded in Azerbaijan since 2005, spokesman for the Agency for Agrarian Services under Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry Yolchu Khanvali told Trend. Industrial Meat Supply Index (IMS) moved up 2% in Jan - June 2019 (all changes in percent are year-on-year in this presentation). • The index didn’t change in June. There was less beef and more pork at the market. Poultry supply dynamics was slightly negative.
