At least 150 autonomous models of agricultural machinery with artificial intelligence and not requiring operators will appear in Russia by the end of 2022. Sergei Morozov, deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, told TASS on Tuesday.
"A wonderful partnership has emerged between the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant and the Moscow company Cognitive Pilot, which has a unique robotic factory in Tomsk. As a result, we have several dozen units of agricultural equipment that have tested themselves in a number of regions of the Russian Federation. This is still not enough for us. We agreed that By the end of the year, at least 150 units of agricultural machinery will be produced at the plant, which will be tested on the territory not only of the Russian Federation. This has never happened in the Russian Federation," he said.
Now the Cognitive Pilot company produces an autonomous control system for agricultural machinery (combine harvester, tractor, sprayer) based on artificial intelligence technologies, which allows the machine operator to entrust the control of the machinery to a robot assistant, while concentrating on quality control of the field cultivation or harvesting process. Cognitive Pilot estimates that automatic tillage by an unmanned tractor will increase tillage productivity by 20%, save seeds by up to 40%, and increase yields by up to 10%. Cognitive Pilot's clients are the largest agricultural holdings in Russia: Ekoniva, GAP Resurs, GC Step, JSC Firm Avgust, Agrocomplex im. Tkachev", "Peschanokopskaya agrarian group" and others.
