The volume of agricultural production in Russia in January 2023 increased by 2.7% compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 242.2 billion rubles. This is stated in the materials of Rosstat.

"The volume of agricultural production of all agricultural producers (agricultural organizations, peasant (farmer) households, household households) in January 2023 at current prices, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 242.2 billion rubles," the department's materials say.

According to statistics, at the end of January 2023, the number of cattle in the farms of all agricultural producers, according to calculations, amounted to 17.5 million heads (0.8% less compared to the corresponding date of the previous year), of which 7.7 cows million (-0.6%), pigs - 28 million (+5.6%), sheep and goats - 20.6 million (-1%). In the structure of livestock, households accounted for 38.1% of cattle, 6.4% of pigs, 45.4% of sheep and goats (as of the end of January 2022 - respectively 38.7%, 7.5%, 45, 9%).

According to Rosstat, in agricultural organizations at the end of January 2023, compared to the corresponding date in 2022, the number of cattle decreased by 0.4%, cows - by 0.3%, the number of pigs increased by 7%, sheep and goats - by 1.3%, birds - by 2.2%.
