The results of the working visit of the delegation of the Federation Council Committee on Agricultural and Food Policy and Environmental Management to the PRC were summed up by the Chairman of the Committee, Alexander Dvoinykh. Also included in the delegation were Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agricultural and Food Policy and Environmental Management Belan Khamchiev and member of the Federation Council Committee Alexander Narolin.

Alexander Dvoinykh recalled that the senators held business meetings with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji and the leadership of the relevant committee of the PRC Parliament, during which issues of cooperation at the inter-parliamentary level, the development of partnerships in the field of agriculture and environmental management, including the development of mutually beneficial trade, were discussed. opening supplies of Russian pork, supplies of organic products and others.

In Russia, since 2020, thanks to the Federation Council, a law on organic products has been adopted and is functioning.

“In China, the demand for expensive, high-quality products is constantly growing. At the same time, China itself is not an organic producer, since it does not have the land resources needed for the production of organic products,” said Alexander Dvoinykh.

He noted that during negotiations with the Chinese side, the key issue of recognizing Russian certificates of organic conformity in China was considered. There are several possible regulatory mechanisms - mutual recognition or an accredited organization in China or Russia, which will inspect the enterprise and agree on these requirements.

Alexander Dvoinykh emphasized that a wide range of Russian organics on the Chinese market is a strategic issue. He added that China is, in principle, interested in Russian products, such as meat, vegetables and fruits, and the Chinese side is very friendly towards Russian exporters.

At a meeting with colleagues from the National People's Congress of China, Russian representatives discussed cooperation in the field of use of technology and equipment.

“We agreed that we will summarize the entire request of our large associations and prepare a separate on-site session where farmers will be able to exchange experiences and get acquainted with the best manufacturers of machinery and equipment,” said Alexander Dvoinykh.
