In the course of a study conducted by NeoAnalytics on the topic “Russian market of sausage and sausage products: results of 2018” it turned out that in general, 2018 was not a good year for the Russian market of sausage products. At the end of the year, the dynamics of the market turnover was recorded negative against the background of the somewhat stagnating dynamics of retail trade turnover in the Russian Federation.
In 2018, the volume of production of sausage and sausage products in Russia amounted to 2.3 million tons and decreased over the year by 6.4%. In the production structure, stuffed sausage products are leading (63.8%), which include boiled sausages and wieners.
The import volume in 2018 amounted to 35 million tons and decreased over the year by 8.1%. The largest sausage exporter is Belarus, with a share of 97.1% in physical terms and 96.1% in terms of value. The share of imports in the structure of the market volume is insignificant and in 2018 it was 1.5%.
The export of sausage products in 2018 amounted 30 million tons and decreased over the year by 7.4%. The largest recipient of Russian sausage products is Kazakhstan (72.1% in value terms and 77% in real terms).
