Armenia's Food Safety Inspection Body has restricted imports of certain types of meat, meat products, raw materials and fodder from Russia, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic and Poland.

According to the press service of the regulator, based on reports that symptoms of cattle foot and mouth disease were recorded in northern regions of Kazakhstan, as well as on recorded cases of the disease in the Orenburg region of Russia, it decided to ban imports of certain types of meat and meat products from these areas to Armenia from 17 January 2022. The ban applies to the following products/sub-products:

*beef and mutton, pork, reindeer meat, wild animal meat susceptible to FMD

* camels and camelids (llama, alpaca, vigon),

* all types of zoo and circus animals,

* seminal fluid of bovine semen, boars, sheep, goats, cattle and pig embryos,

* milk and dairy products, meat and meat products made from cattle and small ruminants,

* raw materials, skin, guts, bristles (pig) from cattle susceptible to FMD and slaughtered in slaughterhouses as well as hunting trophies,

* feed and feed additives containing components of animal origin obtained from animals susceptible to FMD (except heat-treated feed and feed additives for dogs, cats, aquarium and terrarium animals, ornamental birds, rodents),

* feed and feed additives of plant origin (except for ready-made feeds intended for dogs, cats, aquarium and terrarium animals, ornamental birds, rodents).

Also, due to the detection of cases of highly contagious avian influenza in the Ustets Region of the Czech Republic and Lower Silesia region of Poland, the import of the following products into Armenia from those countries is prohibited from January 17, 2022:

* poultry meat (all types) and poultry meat products (all types),

* raw materials (feathers and fluff),

* marketable and hatching eggs,

* meat and bone meal,

* fodder and mixed fodder (except for those made of synthetic and chemical materials),

* polymeric and cardboard boxes and inlays. --0--
