Russian manufacturers, including products of animal origin, presented their goods in China at the first “Made in Russia” fair and festival. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
As part of this exhibition, one of the Russian companies entered into a one-time contract with Chinese partners for the supply of its products worth 1 billion yuan. This is almost $140 million, according to the Russian Export Center (REC), which organized the event.
The “Made in Russia” fair and festival takes place from January 27 in the Chinese cities of Shenyang and Dalian (Liaoning province). The fair will last until February 5.
Russia is represented at the exhibition by about 130 companies from 30 regions of the country, including Miratorg, Cherkizovo, Russian Crab and many others.
“They brought over 1,500 types of goods – from dairy products, honey and pasta to drinks and sweets,” the ministry said.
The REC added that the purpose of holding this fair is to increase the recognition of Russian brands in China. Over three million people are expected to visit the exhibition.
“Such fairs are a unique format that has proven to be very interesting for Chinese consumers. We have already received an invitation from the Chinese province of Liaoning to continue holding such festivals in the region,” said Veronika Nikishina, head of the REC.
During the exhibition, the parties agreed to develop the Russian-Chinese commercial and industrial park in Shenyang. The park opened in February last year. Customs warehouses, diagnostic and repair centers, duty-free processing of goods, as well as premises for storing products are being created there, the REC clarified.
In addition, at the exhibition they agreed to launch direct flights from Russia to Shenyang. Flights will be operated by China Eastern Airlines starting in February this year.
