Birthe Steenberg, Secretary General of the Association of Poultry Processors and Poultry Trade in the EU (AVEC), paid a visit to Cherkizovo Group’s automated Kashira plant and had a tour through its AI-based sausage production process.

Last week, Secretary General of AVEC Birthe Steenberg came to Moscow at the invitation of Sergey Lakhtyukhov, Director General of the National Union of Poultry Farmers, to participate in the Russia in the global meat market panel discussion at the AGROS 2020 exhibition.

The Secretary General's programme also included a visit to Cherkizovo Group’s fully automated sausage plant in Kashira. The plant’s team took her on a guided tour, showing the unique robots operating the entire production process from the moment raw materials enter the facility to the shipment of finished products. Ms Steenberg learned that the plant leverages AI technologies to minimize human involvement and deliver consistently high product quality.

At the end of the tour, Birthe Steenberg and Sergey Lakhtyukhov were invited to take part in a tasting session of premium Cherkizovo sausages. They highly appreciated the quality and taste of sausages made from chilled meat produced on the Group’s own farms.
