In order to further improve the mechanism of food security in Azerbaijan, within the framework of the project "Strengthening the competitiveness of agriculture," the process of implementation of the Animal Identification and Registration System (AIRS) has begun.

The System will be established within the framework of joint cooperation of the Azerbaijan Food Security Agency for Agricultural Lending and Development under the Ministry of Agriculture and the World Bank.

AIRS will track each animal and livestock product "from farm to table," so it will play an exceptional role in terms of ensuring food safety.

The Identification System will contain information about which farm owns the products of animal origin, from the meat or milk of which particular animal it is made, at which production facility it is processed. The System will also provide information on diseases suffered by animals, the time of their vaccination, veterinary drugs used, etc.

The new System will allow you to monitor the genetic line of animals, organize a breeding business, identify risks, manage food security and implement veterinary measures against diseases.

It is expected that the introduction of the System will facilitate the integration of Azerbaijan in this area into the world economic union.
