  • 06 May 2020, 10:34

Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, has delivered 7,000 sausages to medical staff at seven hospitals in the Moscow Region. The food donation is part of the #Wearetogether campaign run in partnership with Roscongress Club and the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity to support frontline workers fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Cherkizovo has donated food parcels containing dry sausages to seven healthcare facilities in the Moscow Region. The donation was provided to healthcare staff at the Zhukovsky Interdistrict Hospital, Klimovsk Municipal Hospital No. 2, Korolyov Municipal Hospital, Mytishchi Municipal Clinical Hospital, Khimki Regional Hospital, Solnechnogorsk Central District Hospital and Kolomna Central District Hospital. The Group delivered 1,000 sausages to each healthcare facility.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are providing food aid across the country, bringing it to those who need it most – disadvantaged people, women with three or more children and people with reduced mobility. Today, it has become more important than ever to support frontline medical staff who are working hard and putting their own lives at risk to battle the coronavirus. We are proud of our contribution to helping medics on the frontline,” said Sergey Mikhailov, CEO of Cherkizovo Group.

These food donations are part of the #Wearetogether campaign, a Russia-wide charity initiative joined by Cherkizovo as a financial partner in spring this year. Roscongress Club, assisted by the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity and Ryady Optoclub, a cash and carry wholesaler, acted as the delivery partner.

“Medical staff are currently at the centre of public and private support efforts. We are confident that the help we are providing to healthcare workers and their families cannot be overstated. They are true heroes and we are extremely grateful for the exceptional dedication and sacrifices they are making daily to save people's lives. Taking care of those on the frontline should be a goal for all of us,” said Elena Sokolova, Director of the Content Foundation.

Personal Assistant is another initiative set up as part of the #Wearetogether campaign. It is organised by Roscongress Club with the assistance of the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity and is geared towards assisting medical staff. Medical organisations need to apply at вашпомощник.мывместе2020.рф to gain access to the service. Medical staff will have access to a reliable assistant that will take care of any everyday issues when required. Set up in the form of an app with a friendly interface, it will make it easy for doctors to apply for help: order food deliveries, handle daily problems, arrange distance learning for their children and more.

“Let’s unite and do good together! This has been the motto of the past two weeks. Paramedics, doctors and other medical workers are now on the frontline, taking on a tremendous responsibility. The job they are doing is making a difference. They are true heroes and deserve our utmost support! We thank our partners, those who have provided support in these challenging times and have joined the #Wearetogether campaign, and welcome anyone else interested in getting involved”, said Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Roscongress Foundation.
