Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, took part in the meeting of the Trade & Investment Taskforce as part of the prestigious Business 20 (B20) summit.

Last week, the Saudi Arabian capital city of Riyadh hosted this year's first meeting of the B20 taskforces. It was attended by representatives of prominent business communities and major companies from the G20 countries. During the event, pressing economic issues were discussed by panels of industry experts. These are known as "taskforces" and specialise in Digitalization, Trade & Investment, Energy, Finance & Infrastructure, Future of Work  & Education, Sustainability and Climate, etc.

This was the first time that Cherkizovo had attended a B20 event. The Company was represented by Alexey Kletsko, Director for Strategy and member of the Management Board, who was selected to take part in the meeting of the Trade & Investment Taskforce. By participating in B20, the Group seeks to demonstrate to the global business community that Cherkizovo, as an industry leader in Russia and one of the world’s largest protein producers, has a vital role to play in addressing the global issue of food security.  Being involved in the taskforce was also a good opportunity for the Company to make connections with potential partners.

The B20 summit has been ever present on the international business communities' calendar since 2010. The summit allows business representatives to exchange views and discuss the most important issues facing the world today. The mission of B20 is to promote stable and sustainable economic growth, leading to increased job creation. B20 ensures that decisions taken by the G20 leaders reflect the input of the business community and are properly implemented.
