World meat industry news

The index of agricultural production amounted to 102.3% compared to the same period last year. The Ministry of Agriculture records growth in almost all areas and expects this trend to continue until the end of the year. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, at a meeting of the President of Russia with members of the government, writes The DairyNews with reference to the press service of the department.

Speaking about the development of animal husbandry, the minister noted the positive dynamics, taking into account the launch of new projects, as well as the stabilization of the epizootic situation. The production of livestock and poultry increased by 6.5%, including the growth of more than 7% for pork and poultry.

In the food and processing industry, indicators increased by almost 1.5%. Here, as a whole, positive dynamics is predicted at the end of the year.  

According to Dmitry Patrushev, the sowing campaign in the Russian Federation has been completed, and, according to preliminary data, about 53.5 million hectares have been sown with spring crops. In the south, the North Caucasus and in Central Russia, cleaning has started, the situation is normal. At the moment, about 10 million tons of grain have been threshed, the rate is higher than last year. In addition, open ground vegetables, potatoes are being harvested, as well as systematic fodder for farm animals.

In general, with favorable weather, a decent harvest is expected for all major crops.
