"In animal husbandry, we predict an increase in indicators at the end of the year. Thus, for eight months, the production of livestock and poultry amounted to 8.5 million tons, which is 440 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2021. The forecast for production at the end of the year is 16 million tons" Patrushev said.

"Milk production in eight months reached 12.7 million tons, which is 430 thousand tons more than a year earlier. In 2022, we expect to reach 32.5 million tons," the minister added.

According to Rosstat, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in the Russian Federation in 2021 compared to 2020 in farms of all categories increased by 0.3% - up to 15.7 million tons (in live weight), milk production increased by 0.2 % and amounted to 32.3 million tons.

In relation to the products of the food and processing industry in general, growth is noted in the main categories, Patrushev said, specifying that by the end of the year it is planned to reach volumes "not lower than last year's."

“Thus, Vladimir Vladimirovich, the current production indicators allow us to fully implement the Doctrine of Food Security, that is, to ensure the domestic market and continue to develop exports,” the minister concluded.
