The supervisory board of the EU project "Improving legislation, control and awareness in food safety, animal health and welfare in Ukraine" began its work. The national project coordinator was VitalyBashinsky, who is also the national coordinator of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) project.

During the first meeting of the Supervisory Board, which was held on December 5, they discussed the relationship of the project with the obligations of Ukraine under the Association Agreement with the EU.

“These are far from the first steps that have already been taken in this direction, but we are facing new tasks that need to be completed. In addition to strengthening the legislative base, we are faced with tasks related to training specialists, ensuring awareness of consumers and interested stakeholders in the functioning of the new Derzhprodzhivsluzhba service and increasing the level of responsibility of the authorities, business and the public, "said Olga Shevchenko, chairman of the State Food and Beverage Service.

The meeting participants agreed on a further plan of action under the project to improve legislation, control and awareness of food safety, animal health and well-being.
