It is more profitable to send offal to the Chinese market, since in China itself they are more expensive than pure meat. For example, wholesale prices for boneless pork in the country are only from 2 to 3.5 dollars per kilogram, rib bone - from $3.5 to $4.5, legs, ears, stomachs and intestines of pigs - around 4-8 $/ kg. The fillet itself and other meat in its pure form, according to her, can be sold on the Russian market.
The analyst also noted the serious benefits from the export of Russian pork to China. China accounts for almost half of world consumption. Last year, the country produced 53.5 million tons of pork. Imports amounted to 2.7 million tons, of which 1.55 were meat, and the remaining volumes were by-products. The share of exports from the country is insignificant - 270 thousand. Thus, China's pork consumption (including by-products) is 56 million. Of course, it is beneficial for us to enter this market and even taking 5-10 percent of imports will be a success. In exact figures, this will be from 100 to 200 thousand tons per year. In our country, pork production last year amounted to 6.06 million tons in live weight and 4.4 in slaughter weight. Exports are slightly higher than expected for China, or about 260 thousand tons. Thus, the export of pork to China will not affect our domestic market in any way, the expert noted. At the same time, she recalled that pig farming in Russia is still in the development stage, and not all producers have reached the planned capacity. Thanks to this, exporting to China will solve the problem of increasing production. The fact is that Russians began to consume unprecedentedly large volumes of pork per capita, and in the future its consumption can no longer grow so sharply.
Also recently, the Chinese publication Sohu reported that Canada reacted negatively to the start of supplies of Russian pork to China. Before the conclusion of the Russian-Chinese deal, it was one of the largest exporters of this meat to the Chinese market.
