Five Russian producers of mutton received the right to export their products to Saudi Arabia. Representatives of the State Food and Drug Administration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (SFDA) reported this to the Rosselkhoznadzor during video talks on July 22, 2020.

As told to the publication "Veterinary and Life" in the Russian department, access to Saudi Arabian mutton market got: LLC "Bryansk Meat Company" (part of the agro-industrial holding "Miratorg"), LLC Agroholding "Agrokhom" (Republic of Dagestan), LLC "Kavkaz- Meat "(Karachay-Cherkess Republic), as well as two individual entrepreneurs from the Stavropol Territory.

According to estimates by the National Meat Association, mutton accounts for a little over 2% of the total meat market in Russia. Nevertheless, experts believe that Russian mutton has good export potential. “The markets of the Middle East and Central Asia are opening, and they are interested in the supply of this particular type of meat. Currently, several projects of industrial sheep breeding and mutton processing are being implemented”.- Sergei Yushin, head of the executive committee of the National Meat Association, told.
