All news / Food prices in Russia in 2018 rose faster than in the EU

The increase in food prices in Russia over the past year amounted to 5.5%, while on average in the European Union, food became more expensive by 1.3%, reports Rosstat. Last month, food prices in the Russian Federation rose by 2.1%, while in the EU the increase was 0.4%.

In 2017 food prices in Russia rose more slowly than in the EU (0.7% vs. 2.6%).

In 2018 there was a significant increase in prices for meat and meat products - 7.8%. In the EU, it was 0.5%.
