For the first 6 months of 2020, the exports of Russian agricultural products exceeded 13 bln USD, up 18% compared to the same period year ago, declared the Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation, Viktoriya Abramchenko on August 20.
“Vegetable oils and grains were the main drivers of agricultural export. Moreover, shipments of sugar and meat products grew significantly”, - she said.
Grain was the key export commodity with the share of 27% in the overall structure of agricultural export. Russia exported 17.6 mln tonnes of grain over the reporting period, up 25%.
“Record oilseeds production in 2019 allowed to increase the export of fat-and-oil products to 2.5 bln USD (+31%) in the first half of 2020. External shipments of sunflower oil reached 1.5 bln USD (+38%). China remained the leading importer who increased purchases by 3 times to 577 mln USD. Particularly, China increased sunflower oil import by 3.8 times to 282 mln USD. Moreover, TOP-3 importers of Russian fat-and-oil products includes Turkey and India”, - the expert added.
