In May 2024, agricultural production in Russia showed steady growth, increasing by 1% compared to the same period the previous year. These data, presented in the Rosstat report, indicate positive dynamics in the country’s agriculture.

According to preliminary estimates by Rosstat, the total volume of agricultural production in May 2024 reached 530 billion rubles. This figure is part of the overall growth in production volumes in January-May 2024, which amounted to 1,995.1 billion rubles. Comparing the data with last year, it can be noted that the growth this year was 9.5%.

Interestingly, comparing the data with May 2023, year-on-year agricultural production increased by 2.9%. It is also worth noting that in April 2024 there was a significant jump in production, namely by 10%.

In addition to increasing production volumes, there is also an increase in sales volumes of main types of agricultural products. For example, during the period January-May 2024, 28.4 million tons of grain were sold (an increase of 9.5%), 5.7 million tons of livestock and poultry (an increase of 3.5%), 8.5 million tons of milk ( an increase of 4.2%) and 13.8 billion eggs (a decrease of 3.7%).

It is important to note that grain sales in May 2024 amounted to 5.6 million tons (an increase of 3.1%), livestock and poultry increased by 2.7%, milk - by 3.5%, and the number of eggs sold decreased by 4 .7%.

These indicators indicate the stable development of agriculture in Russia and reflect the efforts of agricultural producers to increase the production and sale of agricultural products. The industry's outlook remains optimistic and it is important to continue to maintain this positive trend to ensure the country's food security.
