In light of the increased demand for poultry products in 2023, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, is taking measures to encourage manufacturers and retail chains to enter into long-term contracts for the supply of chicken. This will ensure stable supply volumes and stable retail prices, which is an important factor for consumers.

One of the major problems in the poultry industry is the mismatch between supply and demand. Despite the increase in the production of poultry meat and eggs, the rise in prices for poultry products remains relevant. To solve this problem, the Ministry of Agriculture agreed on a plan to further increase volumes with major producers to meet the needs of the domestic market.

Organizing work to encourage manufacturers and retail chains to enter into long-term contracts for the supply of products is one of the key steps taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This will create predictable supply volumes and stable prices for consumers. Such long-term contracts will provide reliability and confidence for both manufacturers and retail chains.

The price situation on the food market also corresponds to seasonal trends. Some items, such as pork, sunflower oil, rice, sugar, vermicelli, have shown a decrease in selling prices over the past month. However, the cost of vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, cabbage, beets and onions has also decreased. At the same time, prices for tomatoes and cucumbers showed a seasonal increase, which is associated with the transition to protected soil products and an increase in supplies of imported vegetables.

The positive trend in vegetable production in 2023 is encouraging. The development of this industry plays an important role in providing varied and healthy food to the population. Therefore, incentivizing producers and concluding long-term supply agreements are important steps to create a sustainable and developed market for poultry products in Russia.

These measures taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry and Trade will contribute to the development of the poultry industry in Russia, ensuring stability in supplies and affordable prices for consumers.
