The mortality from highly pathogenic avian influenza in Kazakhstan’s poultry has risen to 870,000.

Yesterday, government officials released figures showing that between September 22 and October 19, the mortality had risen to 26,500 in backyard poultry and 847,000 in industrial poultry on three farms.

The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the above mortality makes up about 2% of the country’s poultry population.

Following this outbreak, regulations banning the entry and exit of poultry products and other health protocols have been enforced, and more than 4.5 million doses of vaccine have been considered to control the condition.

Officials recently announced that they would vaccinate poultry within a 20-kilometer radius of wildlife centers along the flight path of wild birds to prevent the spread of highly acute avian influenza in the poultry industry.

It should be noted that the outbreak of the disease in Kazakhstan and Russia has caused concern among European countries because the flight path of migratory birds to this continent passes through the skies of these two countries.
