All news / In the Russian Federation, large poultry farms are faced with the problem of labor shortages

  • 21 Aug 2023, 11:36

According to data received from factories, the shortage of labor in some companies amounted to 25-30%.

It is noted that the existing shortage of personnel prevents the creation of full-fledged work shifts to maintain production, and this, in turn, can lead to risks of delays in deliveries and order cancellations.

Thus, the Sinyavinskaya company asked its partners to recognize the situation as force majeure and not charge fines for transferring deliveries, as well as incomplete deliveries starting from August 1.

Rosptitsesoyuz confirms that the problem with personnel exists in most industries, however, they believe that production volumes at poultry farms will not be significantly reduced due to this problem.

It is worth noting that the labor shortage is also observed in the agro-industry in general. Market participants note the departure of migrant workers and point out the lack of especially machine operators, as well as dividers.

According to experts, the labor shortage is both an outflow of foreign workers due to the depreciation of the Russian currency, and a seasonal factor, when many workers leave for their subsidiary farms and return to their jobs in the fall.
