World meat industry news

 Food production is an important sector of the Russian economy, which provides the population with food. In January-November 2023 in Russia there was an increase in the production of meat and offal, sausages, semi-finished meat products, meat-containing, chilled, frozen, as well as canned meat and meat-containing products.

According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, production of meat and offal in January-November 2023 amounted to 8.777 million tons, which is 2.4% more than in the same period last year. Production growth was observed in both the industrial and agricultural sectors.

Sausage production increased by 2.6% and amounted to 2.255 million tons. The growth in sausage production is due to increased demand for these products from consumers.

The production of semi-finished meat products, meat-containing, chilled and frozen products increased by 6% and reached 4.25 million tons. The growth in the production of semi-finished meat products, meat-containing, chilled and frozen products is associated with the convenience and speed of preparation of these products.

Production of canned meat and meat-containing products increased by 6.8% to 801.5 thousand tons. The growth in the production of canned meat and meat-containing products is due to the long shelf life of these products.

The growth in the production of meat and meat products in Russia in January-November 2023 indicates positive trends in the development of the industry. Increasing the production of meat products will provide the population with high-quality food and increase the country's food security.
