The production indicators of the agro-industrial complex make it possible to fulfill the Food Security Doctrine, provide for the Russian market and develop exports. This was announced by Russian Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Current production indicators make it possible to fully implement the Doctrine of Food Security, that is, to provide for the domestic market and continue to develop exports," Patrushev said.
The minister said that the main categories of production of the food and processing industries are growing. Thus, for the eight months of 2022, the production of livestock and poultry amounted to 8.5 million tons, which is 440 thousand tons more than in the same period in 2021. According to Patrushev, the production forecast for the year is 16 million tons.
He also recalled that milk production in Russia reached 12.7 million tons in eight months, which is 430 thousand tons more than a year earlier. "In 2022, we expect to reach 32.5 million tons," the minister concluded.
