From January through August 2020, Kazakhstan exported 17 thousand Mt of meat and meat products valued at $38.4 million. This is 1.7% down against the same period of 2019.
The decline in exports is caused by reduction of lamb supply by 69.6% and sausage products by 62.8%, as well as by 12.7% of meat stuffed pasta. At the same time, beef exports were 122.1% up, canned meat -14.9% up, pork exports grew by 4.2%.
Over the first eight months of 2020, Kazakhstan exported 6.1 thousand Mt of beef valued at $20.6 million to: Uzbekistan ($11.4 million), Russia ($5.1 million) and China ($3.9 million). Lamb exports amounted to 68 Mt for $2.7 million: to the UAE ($1.5 million), Uzbekistan ($681.1 thousand), Russia ($346.1 thousand) and Iran ($112 thousand).
Pork exports amounted to 447.5 Mt valued at $837.4 thousand: to Armenia - at $620.2 thousand and Russia - at $217.1 thousand. Horse meat exports to Russia grew to 41.2 Mt by $123.5 thousand, and to Spain by $0.5 thousand.
Kazakhstan also exported canned meat for $1.9 million: to Kyrgyzstan ($892.8 thousand), Russia ($545.5 thousand) and Turkmenistan ($472.7 thousand), and exports of meat stuffed pasta to Russia were $1.3 million in value.
