Based on the results of the first five months of 2024, the country produced 6.5 million tons of live weight livestock and poultry for slaughter, as well as 13.5 million tons of milk. This is stated in the materials of Rosstat.

The growth in meat and poultry production in the first five months of this year compared to the same period in 2023 amounted to 2.9%. Milk production volumes increased by 1.5%.

In May, 1.3 million tons of livestock and poultry were produced for slaughter. This is 2.6% more than in May 2023, and almost the same as produced in April of this year.

Milk production volumes in May of this year reached 3.1 million tons. In annual terms, milk production remained almost at the same level as in May 2023, adding 0.3%, and in monthly terms the increase was significant. In May 2024, milk production increased by almost 10% compared to April.

The production of chicken eggs continues to decline. In total, according to the results of the first five months of this year, the country produced 18.7 billion eggs - 2.6% less than in January-May 2023. At the same time, in May, manufacturers significantly increased the volume of production of these products. In total, at the end of the month, 4.1 billion eggs were produced - 6.4% more than in April.
